Finished Tumbling Blocks Weave

This piece is successfully ironed to the stabilizer, and awaiting final orders. Overall this project contains five fat quarters and a half yard of fabric. IMG_7172

The video I used for instruction was T Jayes’. I paused it after direction until I understood the weave. It’s simple, a lot of fun, and the results are stunning.

I haven’t decided what to do with the piece yet, but it seems like it would make a great mat for a baby bag…and I have a design sketched to try it out on!

Happy Monday! What have you been making? Thanks for stopping by!

Weave a Bit

After reading about the Wefty needle on Mister Domestic‘s blog I ordered a set right away. The possibilities of color combinations are mesmerizing.

Making strips was easy and relaxing with the 1/2″ Clover Bias Tape Maker. There are a lot of cardboard boxes in the house right now and the bottom of one became the weaving surface. After weaving for awhile, my thumb and forefinger became a bit tender, prompting me to take a break.
