October Workshops at Red Rock Canyon

September is awesome. This Fall I’m an Artist-in-Residence, along with two other amazing artists, at the Red Rock Canyon Interpretative Association. The residency dates run from October 1st through the 14th, with embroidery workshops on October 4th and October 11. My classes will focus on stitching the impressive Red Rock Canyon landscape. Call the number on the flier to sign up. Hope to see you soon!

Finished Tumbling Blocks Weave

This piece is successfully ironed to the stabilizer, and awaiting final orders. Overall this project contains five fat quarters and a half yard of fabric. IMG_7172

The video I used for instruction was T Jayes’. I paused it after direction until I understood the weave. It’s simple, a lot of fun, and the results are stunning.

I haven’t decided what to do with the piece yet, but it seems like it would make a great mat for a baby bag…and I have a design sketched to try it out on!
